At some point this truck’s wheel came came free from the vehicle and landed on the lower arm, grinding the LBJ stud down to nothin. It was repaired with a new hub/bearing assy and 1 rotor (rotor also slid on the road, as shown by a flat spot on the backing plate ) and sent on its way... This truck was one good bump from having the entire knuckle and wheel separate from the vehicle while moving...scary.

The car started fine but once vacuum built up the exhaust valve opened and the throttle closed. No exhaust or intake was getting to the engine and the car stalled. That is how I found out there was a problem.

The damaged parts are the front housing, front rotor, and the center iron is junked. The front plate is fine, and the rest if the housing and rotors are perfectly fine. Actually, the housing and the rotor looks like it was replaced. The seals are perfect, and the housing has no wear at all.

It was from a 2009 Wrangler, it was at a shop before ours so we weren’t really able to diagnose effectively what happened, but our guess is that it didn’t have near enough oil whenever it was changed last. It’s pretty wild.

Side Object Detection modules.
...GM put these modules on the inside of the rear bumper, exposed to the elements and any stuff that the rear tires kick up into them. Any flaws in the manufacture of these modules will allow water to get inside, and make the modules swell like balloons. Sometimes, it gets inside the connector for these modules and the whole rear harness will need to be replaced!
It’s almost the season because every winter, these modules fail frequently across all vehicles. I’ve seen dozens fail just last winter.
Last I heard, GM was aware of the issue, but no resolutions have been made as far as I know.

That rusty Civic with a child seat in it, is truly horrifying. It burns me up when people put their kids into rusted out shit boxes.

That air filter... I need to change the ZJ’s. It’s a K&N and grimy. Going to go back to t he stock box though I think.
But I did my roommate’s Juke’s filter this weekend. It didn’t look awful but a ll the wildfire smoke had it about plugged with fine particulate . The poor little thing barely started.
